Mabinogion Goddess Lineage
A sculptural jewellery cycle tracing the archetypes of mythic origin from the Mabinogion, expressed through the contemporary feminine becoming. Each goddess embodies a distinct transformation — innocence, sovereignty, autonomy, alchemy, and renewal — reimagined through ceramic protoforms and silver elements that bridge ancient Welsh myth with present‑day feminine consciousness.
Blodeuwedd I
In Stage 1, Blodeuwedd appears in her purest state — conjured entirely from
blossoms, untouched by consciousness or consequence. Her primrose‐yellow
crown marks the moment of her creation: a burst of sunrise light symbolising
innocence, obedience, and the spellbound stillness of a being made to fulfil
another’s desire. The meadow‐white of her body remains luminous and
unmarked, holding the quiet potential of someone who has not yet awakened
to her own agency.
The translucent morganite beads surrounding Blodeuwedd act as the
atmosphere of her birth — soft, dew‐like, and gently diffused. Their pale clarity
reinforces her status as a blank vessel suspended in the first breath of
existence. She is the Flower Maiden before thought, before choice, before transformation: living entirely in the light.

Blodeuwedd II
The Awakening
This piece introduces a sweeping lilac cloak that wraps around Blodeuwedd in
soft, dusk‐toned folds. On her body rests a symbolic iris flower — rendered in
violet with a dark, maturing brown stem. This stem curves protectively across
her torso, embracing the luminous white inner landscape she holds open at
her center. The contrast between the lilac cloak, the deep iris stem, and the
untouched white interior creates a visual tension between innocence and
emerging complexity.
Stage 2 represents Blodeuwedd’s awakening into consciousness, desire, and
agency. The white inner landscape symbolizes her essential purity — the part
of her identity untouched by the spell that created her. The iris flower on her
body, with its darkening stem, introduces maturity, secrecy, and fate. It acts as
her developing persona: a protective mask and a sign of the emotional depth
forming within her. Through this iris, Blodeuwedd begins to sense the tragic
path ahead, revealing the inner struggle of a being who has started to choose— even when choice is forbidden.

Blodeuwedd III - The Transformation
The final figure shifts to an ash‐like, stony grey wash that accentuates the
carved, feather‐like drapery of tucked wings. This muted, avian palette marks
the moment of Blodeuwedd’s metamorphosis. Starkly set against the grey is a
vivid pink human heart held close to her chest — the brightest point in the
composition, luminous and defiant.
Her headpiece, shaped from soft floral petals, remains the final trace of her
origin — a quiet reminder that she was once conjured from blossoms rather
than born. These petals mark the fragile boundary between who she was
made to be and who she becomes, carrying the last echo of her floral identity
into the shadowed realm of her transformation.
This stage represents her ultimate punishment. Banished by the magicians,
she is stripped of her floral colours and transformed into the owl, condemned
to fly in the shadows. Yet while her exterior hardens into a nocturnal creature
shaped by consequence rather than choice, the vivid pink heart reveals the
emotional climax: her human memory, resilience, and capacity to love remain
stubbornly alive at her core.
