Joanna Michalicka is a contemporary jewellery artist whose work translates inner experience into wearable sculpture. Her diverse background includes studies in Architecture Renovation and an MA in Literature with a focus on American Poetry, disciplines that directly inform her spatial and symbolic approach to design.
Joanna’s creative practice is rooted in sculptural processes—carving, refining, and shaping silver clay, metal, and natural materials to hold tension, softness, and the imprint of the hand. At the heart of her work lies a devotion to the ancient language of archetypes, exploring patterns of strength, beauty, and wisdom that have shaped women’s stories for millennia. She investigates how these timeless forces remain active in contemporary emotional life, embodying them through material, weight, and form.
Her work has been exhibited internationally in projects that bridge mythic language with physical expression. Each piece is shaped slowly through elemental processes to hold presence, resonance, and quiet transformation. Joanna currently lives and works in Wales.
